Family and Social History

A colourful picture showing research into family trees

The meetings are generally held in the afternoon of the third Friday pm of each month.

We meet at member’s homes and also occasionally have outside visits.  There are currently no charges for this group.

We are a self-help group who meet to share our experiences of learning and researching our family histories and problem solving. Visits will be arranged to venues of special interest to genealogists and those interested in the lives of ordinary people: how they lived, how they worked and how they played.

You need an enquiring mind and an interest in your family history and social history.A computer or any device with ability to access the internet is useful but not essential.  Help and advice can be given on various methods to further your research.  The group consists of beginners to the subject of genealogy and those with some experience and an interest in social history.
