Route: From Whitton Railway Station we walk along Percy Road and cross the busy A216 dual carriage way into Crane Park. We follow the Crane River and Duke of Northumberland’s River past the Harlequins Stoop Rugby Ground to re-cross the A216. We continue along side the river past the Twickenham Rugby Ground and via the Mogden Water treatment plant to Isleworth. Our walk continues via Mill Platt Gardens to Old Isleworth and Syon Park where we stop for coffee/tea at Hillier’s Garden Centre. The walk ends at Syon Lane Railway Station for our return.
There are no toilets at the start of the walk but there is one toilet at the Crane Park Café 1½ miles from the start, a possible coffee stop. There are more public toilets at Tesco’s at 2½ and at the coffee stop at Hillier’s Garden Centre about 5 miles.
This walk is along urban footpaths and pavements which can be muddy during the winter.
