This walk is an introduction to the financial centre of our capital city, covering the history of the area and the development of the major financial institutions that are based here.

The walk lasts for around 4 hours, including an hour break for lunch and there are four free conveniences available during the walk. Overall it will be about 3 miles.

The walk starts and ends at a Pret a Manger outlet opposite Cannon Street station (District Line/Network Rail) with a start time of 11.00 am. You may wish to arrive slightly earlier to enjoy a coffee and/or a convenience break.

Most members are expected to travel from Staines or Ashford SW train stations, on the first off-peak train to Richmond, to take advantage of group travel and the  Senior Rail Card system. Mike will aim to be in the second-to-last carriage, from Staines at 9.38 am.
