Route: An interesting and varied day, where we follow the Thames Path for a short distance before following part of the Green Chain Walk to Woolwich Common. We stay on the GC Walk for a few miles going by Shooters Hill and past Eltham Palace, with great views of the City of London, to Grove Park station. There are some inclines on this walk.
This will be a long day as we start the walk at the furthest part of the Capital Ring. Expect to be back in Ashford at approximately 7:00pm
Bring your own lunch and drinks. There will be a coffee/toilet stop at the start of the walk and half way at lunch although there are some toilets along the route.
Meet: Either join the group at Ashford Station at 9:20 for the 9:41 train to Waterloo or at Waterloo station by the Windrush statue, buying one day travel cards. Onward travel will by the Waterloo and City line to Bank and then by the DLR to Woolwich Arsenal.
Return journey will be by South Eastern to Waterloo East then SW back to Ashford
