NOTE the new date
Description:
Route: Takes in Olympic Park, Greenway, City Airport and Foot Tunnel under the River Thames.
This will be a long day as we start the walk almost at the furthest point on the Capital Ring.
Do not expect to be back to Ashford/Staines station before 7pm. Bring your own lunch and snack/drinks. There will be a coffee/toilet stop about 20 minutes into the walk.
Please note that we did not find any other coffee/toilet stop after this point until we reached UEL campus.
Meet: Either join the group at Ashford Railway Station at 09:25 for the 09:44 train to Richmond or Richmond Railway Station at 10:00. From Richmond we shall use the London Overground to Hackney Wick. The journey on the Overground from Richmond to Hackney Wick is almost 1 hour.
Return by train from Woolwich Arsenal DLR station.
We checked with Railway Ticket Office and they said cheapest option was a One Day Travel card or buy a Group Ticket.
