Spelthorne K2

Eton to Dorney along Jubilee River and returning along the Thames – 8.0 miles flat walk.

Event type: Group event
Date: 25th February 2026
Group: Walking
Organiser:

Description:
This will be done at a MODERATE PACE and is a flat walk. Starting at Windsor & Eton railway station (either arrive by train or car parking nearby), the route is over Eton bridge, through the meadows and sports fields behind Eton, then alongside the railway arches to reach the Jubilee River footpath. The route continues along the Jubilee River then cuts inland to the village of Dorney with lunch at The Palmer Arms (at approx 4.5 miles). The route then cuts across Dorney Common through to the hamlet of Boveney, then onto the Thames path, passing Boveney weir and following the Thames back to Eton. The route has a mixture of paths across commons and fields, cycle paths, a well made path along the Jubilee River section, a long single track roadway (minimal traffic) across Dorney Common and a muddy section along the Thames path (walking poles may be useful for this section as the mud, although not thick but can be slippy following wet weather.)

Lunch:
Lunch at the Palmers Arms needs to be pre-ordered. The “Quick Lunch Menu” and the “Main Menu” links are below; items from either menu can be ordered - please let Gareth or Vivian know your choice so we can confirm our provisional booking with the pub. Let us know ASAP but latest by Monday 16th February (no deposit required.) We have eaten here twice and the food is very good. There is no option to eat your own food at the pub.
