The S&T December meeting has become the traditional one for our annual quiz and as always, many members turned up wanting to be “in it to win it” and hoping for the “bragging rights”!
Six tables battled it out over six rounds. The rounds covered General Knowledge, Name the Athlete, Science & Technology, Motoring History and Four Letter Words. Any quiz not only tests one’s knowledge but hopefully, also increases it. A few of the things learnt were that a mangonel is a type of catapult, Nike used to be Blue Ribbon Sports and Lego make the most tyres in a year. We were also reminded that static speed cameras were introduced in 1992.
The final winners were Table 6. So, after 6 rounds with 6 tables and Table 6 winning, it was a truly “666 Day”.
