Spelthorne K2

Visit to Kew Gardens

Event type: Outing / Holiday / Special event
Date: 21st September 2026
Group: Outings
Organiser:

Following Lesley O’Malley getting K2 tickets for the Community Week at Kew Gardens (a treat as since they changed their terms we no longer qualify for the community scheme) it turned out to be a record breaking heatwave and the planned activities were cancelled.

Kew has offered us complementary tickets for another visit. As they are valued at £750, to have them free is wonderful.

The tickets are for Monday 21st September by which time we should be seeing early autumn colours after an exceptionally hot summer. Put the day in your diary if you are interested.

Tickets allow free entry to the gardens and access to Kew Palace, the iconic glasshouses, treetop walk, Henry Moore Sculpture trail and guided tours (availability of Kew volunteers permitting).

At extra cost are the hop on hop off land train giving access to the large site and the pagoda if you’re feeling energetic.

Helen will have the tickets at the September Citadel meeting on a first come first served basis and this will be the only way to get a ticket.
